Wow what a busy season! Bit of a delayed blog post as I feel I have been absolutely running at full gas with no time!
Anyway this season has been a good one with so much to celebrate and reflect on!
Season highs
I have had so many good times this season that to pick just a few is very hard! But some of my favourite races were….
1. Winning at Bovingdon after going solo with about 4 laps to go! Holding that gap has got to be one of the scariest moments in my racing journey, as well as the most exhilarating. The buzz after that race was just something else, I honestly couldn’t sleep I was still tingling.
2. Winning at Colchester after having a 2up pretty much from the gun and nearly lapping the field. Getting the prime and the win about 2 weeks after recovering from covid. Massive confidence boost and the most prize money ive ever got in a race.
3. 2nd in a road race in Bristol, wanted the win so badly but still very happy for a podium in a sprint finish
4. Coming 2nd four times at Abingdon! Still not sure whether this is a high or low. Was very frustrated to come 2nd FOUR times in one season on the same circuit! Could I not have come 1st once haha.
5. Lastly achieving my 1st cat license, it was very unexpected!
Season lows
1. Having a puncture in my first race in the season. It was on new years day and I didn’t drink new years eve, just to puncture out of my race!
2. Those frustrating sprint finishes. There were some races where I just came way frustrated as I felt I just had so much more to give.
3. Not following my gut and doing what I wanted to do sooner!
4. The multiple doubts that creep in throughout the season! What am I doing? Am I good enough for this?
