Calpe!

Most recently I went to Calpe (I know it’s where all the pros go! Soooo not the reason I chose it trust me haha).

When choosing where to go on holiday I literally typed in the weather averages for February in some of the most popular cycling places (within in a reasonable distance and price). I then narrowed it down to Lanzarote, Tenerife and Calpe. Calpe just happened to be the cheapest, so decision made.

The location

Calpe, was a lovely place to go to, there was a lovely beach (although a bit cold for sunbathing or swimming in the sea) and considering I went out of holiday season there were enough restaurants open (unfortunately the ice cream shop was not open after dinner). Apart from this there did not seem to be much else in Calpe to see or do.

The riding

The riding in Calpe was great, great road surfaces (apart from the really small roads), not too busy and cars seemed very respectful. The routes were all very hilly as to leave Calpe in any direction you seemed to have a large climb. Most of all it was just great riding on new roads and in some sunshine. Made even better when I was told how rubbish the weather was back home. It always feels like a better holiday when you are escaping crap weather!
